Women's 99-98 win over Cabrini highlights Bryn Mawr Double Dual

BRYN MAWR, PA:  (Dec. 1, 2010) -  [Results] Arcadia University Women's Swimming waited until the final event, the 200 Freestyle Relay where they finished in first by under two seconds to pull out a 99-98 victory over Cabrini in tonight's double dual at host Bryn Mawr College.  Also swimming against Bryn Mawr, Arcadia would fall in points against the Owls, 110-87.  The men's team also competed this evening, allowing an early lead to slip away, falling to Cabrini's men, 110-75.

Danielle DiSanto, Caitlin Culhane, Kayla Kroll and Coni Kroll teamed to place second in the 200 Medley Relay (2:15.40) to open the evening but it would be the team of Jessica Parker, Tess Geib, Stephanie Bartolotta and Lindsay Mills who pulled off the win in the closing 200 Free Relay (1:51.11) that gave Arcadia the win in points against Cabrini (1:52.89), who finished second in the event.  Gina Ruppert earned third in the 1000 Free (12:57.94), Catey Nunnari, third in both the 200 Free (2:16.44) and 500 Free (5:57.24).  Parker struck gold in the 50 Free (26.78) and silver in the 100 Free (59.12).  Bartolotta placed third in both the 200 IM (2:34.18) 100 Breaststroke (1:20.94).  Geib swam to second in the 100 Fly (1:09.78) and DiSanto third in the 100 Back (1:11.91) to round out the Knight top performers.

Sean Robinson, Dillon Grady, Joe Blake and Patrick Ward gave Arcadia's men a head start with gold in the opening 200 Medley Relay (1:57.01) and Oliver McCormick gave the Knights another top time in the 1000 Free (11:01.80).  Jason Sharpe took first in the men's third event, the 200 Free (1:57.73) and then Cabrini would take first in the remaining seven events to pull out the victory.  Aaron Knock would take second in the 50 Free (23.67) followed by Grady in third (24.47) while Robinson (2:23.22) and Ward (2:25.29) would place two-three in the 200 IM.  Knock (1:02.72) and Blake (1:06.36) finished one-two in the 100 Fly with Sharpe taking silver in the 100 Free (52.46).  Robinson then took second in the 100 Back (1:04.29), Peter Hamiliton third in the 500 Free (7:06.73) and McCormick, third in the 100 Breaststroke (1:09.08). 

The Knights take to Lenox Pool this Saturday against non-conference opponent Marywood University at 1 PM.
