Women's Soccer stopped by LVC

ANNVILLE, Pa.:  Lebanon Valley used three first half scores over the opening 18 minutes, while outshoting Arcadia University (9-4-1, 2-2) 20-6, to win 3-0 over the visiting Knights in today's Commonwealth Conference women's soccer match.  Senior Brittany Drosdak (Allentown, PA/Allentown Central Catholic) earned two of the Knight's shots on goal while junior goalkeeper Jackie Law (Scotch Plains, NJ/Scotch Plains-Fanwood) made 7 stops in net.

Single-game low offensive production has not been friendly to the Knights this season.  Entering today's game, the Knights are 9-0-1 when they light the scoreboard but winless in three when they haven't.  Arcadia wasn't provided many opportunities today, with 3 of their 6 shots landing on net.  In addition to Drosdak's two, senior Ashley Knueppel (Toms River, NJ/Toms River North) notched the other, with all three saved by LVC keeper Sami Moore.   It was Moore's 4th shutout of the season.

Lebanon Valley's Nicole Snyder finished with 1 goal and 2 assists to lead the Dutchmen (10-4-3, 3-1-1 CC)  in today's win.  The junior dumped off to Sara Drabenstadt just 1:52 into today's game for the opening score, then crafted a pass through traffic to Heather Tran less than 9 minutes later and in a matter of moments the Knights found themselves battling from a 2-0 deficit.  Snyder put the stamp on the game's scoring with a goal of her own at 17:56, with Drabenstadt on the assist.

The Knights got off 4 shots in the second half but what didn't reach Moore was blocked by the Dutchmen defense or just missed the net.

Arcadia looks to avenge today's loss with a league win this Saturday, Oct. 23 at home, hosting Elizabethtown College.  The women's game will be played at 3 p.m., following the conclusion of the men's game at 12 Noon.  Prior to each contest, the team's will honor their graduating seniors.
