Knights storm past Lions for 5th win

Box Score GLENSIDE, Pa.:  Senior Jason Thompson scored 14 points, including 4 of 5 from three point range to help lead Arcadia University to their fifth win of the season, a 94-74 victory over Penn State Abington in today's non-conference men's basketball game at the Kuch Center.

First year Joe Brown added 12 points, going 2 of 3 from long-range, with 5 rebound.  Sophomore Rashon Brock kicked in a dozen points and 7 rebounds while first year Jose Figueroa scored ten points and pulled in 9 caroms to pace the Knights (5-3).

Arcadia, led 46-31 at the half and shot an impressive 55% from field goal range, hit 53% of their three-point attempts and went 70% at the line for the game.

Thompson opened the scoring by draining the first of his game high four treys and capped a 14-7 Arcadia run in the opening six minutes with another trey and a duece in the paint putting the Knights in front by 13.

Arcadia never let their foot off the accelerator and gained a twenty point advantage on a Joe Brown three point bucket at 8:16 for a 33-13 Knight's lead.

The Lions turned it up on offense, roaring back over the next six minutes, going on a 18-4 run on 8 for 10 from the field resulting in a 33-31 game with the Knights still in front.   Arcadia answered the call, scoring 11 unanswered points to conclude the half up 15 after receiving another trey from Thompson as time ticked down.

The second half opened in similar fashion, with Thompson raining down another from long-range as the Knights maintained their double-digit lead over Penn State throughout the entire final stanza.

The Lions (2-3) were paced by Shaan Rabi's 17 points and 3 steals, both game highs and a 15 points and 5 assist effort from Will Alton.  Arcadia defense held the Lions to just 39.2% from the field and 26.1% from three-point land.

Arcadia moves on preparing to face Division I Lehigh University this Monday evening, a 7 p.m. tip-off at Stabler Arena.
