Defending League Champs Blank Knights in Commonwealth Opener

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa., Saturday, March 26, 2011-- Defending Commonwealth Conference team champion Lycoming College wasted no time in making another run at the league title Saturday with a 9-0 shutout of Arcadia University in men's tennis action.

Unseasonable weather had caused school administrators to postpone Saturday's match, but when another mutual date could not be determined, the teams decided to play as scheduled despite the bitter-cold temps that loomed for much of the afternoon. In the end, Lycoming made quick work with three wins in doubles play and continued their momentum through singles play to finish perfect on the afternoon.

The Knights (0-3, 0-1 CC) are already looking ahead to their home match against Messiah on April 2, where they hope to register a win and position themselves for a chance at one of the four top spots in the league for playoffs.
