Box Score Lebanon, PA (October 16, 2012) - The Arcadia University Knights (11-4, 4-3) broke a two-game losing streak this afternoon in a 4-3 come from behind win at Lebanon Valley (9-4, 4-2). The Knights trailed 3-1 at the break, but scored three unanswered goals in the second half, including the game tying and game winner with less than five minutes to play. Today's win was the first over Lebanon Valley since the Knights joined the MAC and the first time that Arcadia scored more than one goal against the Dutchman.
"It was great to see our defense step up and play together in the second half," said head coach
Erin Livingston. "Mia (DePlato) made huge saves throughout the game and our offensive corners were executed extremely well.
Taylor Dalisera was a major contributor on the penalty corners."
Leb Valley started the scoring at the 8:54 mark and then added a second tally at 21:00. Arcadia got on the board at 23:54 as
Katrina Dull tipped the ball into the top corner off an a penalty corner by
Taylor Dalisera. The Dutchman added a third at 32:53 and took a 3-1 lead into the break. Lebanon Valley outshot Arcadia 23-5 and had eight corners to the Knight's three.
Mia De Plato made 16 saves in the first half for Arcadia.
The second half was a complete reversal as the Knights controlled play throughout.
Marilyn Beatty recorded her 100th career point, scoring the Knights second goal at 50:46 off a penalty corner by Dalisera. The game remained a one goal affair until the 65:41 mark, when
Jennie Kamel scored her 22nd goal of the season, converting on a solo run to tie the game at 3-3. Then just over two minutes later, Dull scored her second, off an assist by Beatty to give the Knights the lead and the eventual victory.
Arcadia had five shots in the second half for a game total of 10, while Lebanon Valley had a game total of 28. Each team took 12 corners. DePlato made 18 saves for the Knights.
Arcadia returns to action on Thursday afternoon when they host Scranton at 4pm on Easton Field.
