Lions Top Men's Tennis in Spring Opener

GLENSIDE, Pa.:  Arcadia's Men's Tennis Team opened their spring season this afternoon on the Weiss Tennis Courts but didn't fair as well as the beautiful Friday afternoon weather, dropping their non-conference match to the Lions of Penn State Abington 3-6.

Arcadia won at No.1 and No.2 doubles and got a win at No. 3 singles but drop to 1-3 overall on the year.

Senior Chris Finney and sophomore Marc Ruggia paired as the Knight's No. 1 doubles tandem and toughed out a 8-7 win over the Lions while first year Jeremy Garcia and No. 2 doubles partner sophomore Pat Rohrbaugh went to battle and won 9-8 (7-4).  Garcia would go on to win the Knight's lone singles match, a 6-3, 6-1 victory over Lion's No. 4 Matt Wolff.

The team moves on to face Lebanon Valley College on Saturday, March 31.  The match is the first in Commonwealth Conference play and takes place in Annville, Pa with a 1 p.m. start time as part of a double header afternoon with the women's team.
