BRYN MAWR, PA (September 12, 2012) - Down seven points in the fourth set, the Arcadia University women's volleyball team rallied back to defeat non-conference opponent Bryn Mawr College Wednesday evening to improve their record 4-2.
Rallying from behind in the first set the Knights would eventually tie the game at 13 and then go on to outscore the Owls 12-8 to take set one.
In the second set, Arcadia led the entire match before Bryn Mawr tied the game at 24 and 26. The Knights used a pair of attacking errors by the Owls to win the set.
Byrn Mawr would rally back to lead the entire third set 25-22.
The Owls would stay hot in the fourth set gaining a 20-13 lead. The Knights would string together several kills and a pair of Bryn Mawr attack errors to pull the Knights within one, 21-20. Junior Taylor Hoover nailed a pair of kills and then two attack errors from the Owls to finish the game 25-22 and take the match victory home to Glenside.
Hoover contributed 13 kills on the night and sophomore Olivia Shaner led the Knights with a team-high 16 digs.
Senior Carlee Rossiter led Arcadia with 33 assists and 3 aces. Graduate student Erin Ficca contributed 15 digs. Sophomore Jessica Gorbacheva added two solo blocks to complete the night.
Arcadia will be travel to Cedar Crest College on Saturday to play against the Cedar Crest Falcons and Penn State Berks in Allentown, PA in a tri-match.
