FREDERICK, Md. – The Arcadia University men's swimming team dropped a 162-101 dual meet at Hood College Saturday afternoon in its first dual of the 2013-14 season. The Blazers improved to 2-1 with the win. The Knights set a total of five school records
The day started with the 200 medley relay team of freshman
Eric Lam (Freemont, Calif.), sophomore
Timothy Graham (Teaneck, N.J.), junior
Alex Ganguzza (Hasbrouck Heights, N.J.) and freshman
Matthew Morano (Staten Island, N.Y.) finished third with a school-record time of 1:44.86. Morano then recorded a first-place and school-record time of 1:49.65 in the 200 freestyle and went on to win the 100 freestyle with a school-record time of 49.92 seconds.
Graham and Ganguzza recorded a one-two finish in the 200 butterfly with respective times of 2:08.88 and 2:17.87. Graham also won the 100 butterfly with a time of 56.02 seconds, while Lam won the 200 backstroke with a school-record time of 2:01.20 and won the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:03.82. His second-place time of 56.89 in the 100 backstroke was also a school record. Ganguzza finished third in the 200 IM with a time of 2:16.79.
The 200 freestyle relay team of Morano, sophomores
Collin Andrew (Westmont, N.J.) and
Jake Lindenau (Maywood, N.J.), and Graham finished second with a time of 1:36.39 to cap the day.
Arcadia will next travel to Lebanon Valley College October 26 for a 1 p.m. dual meet.
