Box Score ANNVILLE, Pa. – The fifth-seeded Arcadia University women's soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision at fourth-seeded Lebanon Valley College Wednesday afternoon in the play-in round of the MAC Commonwealth Conference Championship Tournament.
The Dutchmen improved to 11-7-2 for the season and will next travel to top-seeded Messiah College Thursday for a 7 p.m. semifinal match. The Knights fell to 11-4-5 for the season, and will await the announcement of the ECAC South tournament field Monday to see if their season will continue.
Freshman Sammy Bost (Eldersburg, Md.) scored both goals for Lebanon Valley, scoring off her own rebound in the 25th minute and then finishing a two-on-one break in the 53rd-minute. Both plays were setup by junior Amanda Douglass (Robinsville, N.J.).
Arcadia had several quality scoring chances in the match, but was thwarted each time by senior Becca Sykes (Cape May Court House, N.J.) who finished the match with 13 saves for the Dutchmen. Fellow senior
Jackie Law (Scotch Plains, N.J.) had four saves in goal for the Knights.
Arcadia outshot Lebanon Valley 19-13 in the match, including a 12-3 advantage in the second half. The Dutchmen held a 2-1 margin in corner kicks.
