Brown’s 28 Points Not Enough as Men’s Basketball Falls at Lebanon Valley, 92-75

Box Score ANNVILLE, Pa. – Junior forward Joe Brown (Philadelphia, Pa.) scored a team-best 28 points on 11-of-17 shooting from the field and a 4-for-5 performance from three-point range, but it was not enough as the Arcadia University men's basketball team dropped a 92-75 Commonwealth Conference contest at Lebanon Valley College Wednesday afternoon.
 
The Dutchmen improved to 2-6 for the season and 1-2 in conference play, while the Knights fell to 4-5 overall and 0-3 in conference play.
 
Junior guard Kevin Agnew (Mechanicsburg, Pa.) scored a game-high 32 points and dished out seven assists to lead Lebanon Valley to the win. He was 9-of 17 from the floor with four threes, and went 10-of-12 at the free throw line. Junior forward Luke Berguson (Mansfield, Pa.), junior Kevin Donahue (York, Pa.) and freshman guard Travis Conrad (Lewisburg, Pa.) added 12 points each.
 
John Landro () also scored in double figures for Arcadia, netting 15 points. The Knights' next-highest scorer had seven.
 
The Dutchmen led for all but a few minutes in the game, taking the lead for good on a three from Agnew eight minutes into the game that gave LVC a 22-19 lead. They later used a 7-0 run to open a 10-point advantage at 42-32 with 5:45 remaining in the first half, and went on to take a 54-45 lead into the locker room at the half.
 
Arcadia was never closer than nine the rest of the way. It was a 64-55 contest following a layup from junior guard Aaron Lee-Webb (Norristown, Pa.) 4:27 into the second half before the Dutchmen went on a 9-2 run to open a 73-57 advantage. Lebanon Valley led by as many as 20 with 3:18 left on the game.
 
The Knights shot just 39 percent (11-28) from the field and 33 percent (1-3) from three in the second half after shooting 52 percent (16-31) from the field and 63 percent (10-16) from three in the first.
 
Arcadia will open the New Year by hosting Lycoming College January 4, 2014 at 3 p.m. at Alumni Gymnasium.
