Men’s Swimming Edges Cabrini, 80-78

BRYN MAWR, Pa. – The Arcadia University men's swimming team edged out Cabrini College 80-78 in a dual meet at Bryn Mawr College Wednesday night, improving its record to 3-4 for the season. The Cavaliers fell to 1-8 with the loss.
 
The 200 medley relay team of freshman Eric Lam (Fremont, Calif.), sophomores Will Nolter (Philadelphia, Pa.) and Timothy Graham (Teaneck, N.J.) and freshman Matthew Morano (Staten Island, N.Y.) started the meet with a first-place time of 1:49.22, marking the first of six event wins for the Knights.
 
Graham won the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:04.06 and was the winner of the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:27.65, while Lam won the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:05.84 and later won the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:04.02. Morano won the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:56.32 and then took home the win in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:11.65.
 
Sophomore Jonah McMasters (Fontana, Calif.) was the runner-up in the 50 freestyle with a time of 24.82 seconds, which was 1.36 seconds back of Cabrini freshman Hassan Goines' (Philadelphia, Pa.) first-place time of 23.48 seconds. Goines also won the 100 freestyle in 52.52 seconds. Nolter finished third in the 1,000 and 500 freestyles with respective times of 11:58.76 and 5:46.62.
 
Arcadia will next compete at Ocean County College Saturday at 11 a.m.
