Box Score Annville, PA (February 12, 2013) - The Arcadia University Knights (14-10, 9-8 MCOM) jumped out to an early lead that they would never relinquish in a 77-61 road victory at the Lebanon Valley College Dutchmen (9-15, 6-11). The win breaks the Knights three-game losing streak and keeps them in the thick of the playoff race with just one game remaining. The used a 17-6 run late in the game to put it away.
Aaron Lee-Webb scored 19 points to lead the Knights.
In a game with major playoff implications, the Knights came out and opened up a 12-4 lead with 16:15 to play in the first half. Arcadia then had a 20-10 lead at the 11:49 mark. Lebanon Valley chipped into the advantage slowly and trailed 27-20 with 8:15 to play. The Dutchmen used an 11-4 run to tie the game at 31 at the 5:41 mark. The score was then tied at 34 with 4:26 to play in the first half. Arcadia scored five of the final six points of the half, including a three-pointer by
Joe Brown as time expired to take a 39-34 lead into the break.
Brown and
Khalief Trawick each scored 10 points to lead Arcadia in the opening session. Joey Giangiobbe led all scorers with 11 for Lebanon Valley. The Knights shot over 48% from the field in the first half and the Dutchmen shot 39%. Lebanon Valley controlled the boards 22-14, but committed eight turnovers and forced four.
The Dutchmen hit a free throw to start the scoring in the second half, but six straight by the Knights opened up a 45-36 lead for Arcadia with 15:50 to play. The Knights led 49-43 at the 13:24 mark and then scored five points on their next possession to take a 54-43 lead at 12:06. The Dutchmen the scored six straight to back to within five at 54-49 but Arcadia used a 17-6 spurt to take a 71-55 lead at the 3:20 mark and never looked back, winning by the 16-point margin.
Lee-Webb was 7-13 from the field with six assists. Brown added 17 points, while Trawick had 13 points and
John Landro scored 11. The Knights shot 50% from the field and held the Dutchmen 35%. Lebanon Valley held a slight rebounding edge 38-35.
Arcadia will complete the regular season on Saturday at Widener with a 3pm tip-off in Chester.
