Box Score North Myrtle Beach, SC (March 12, 2013) - The Arcadia University Knights (3-2) defeated Principia College (0-3) for the second straight day, 4-1 at NCSI. The Knights scored runs in the first, second and sixth innings and got an outstanding pitching performance from Heather Buriak. Buriak also helped herself at the plate with a 2-3 day and an RBI.

The Knights got on the board immediately as Jessica Shotwell doubled to start the game, stole third and then scored on a balk. Leanda Helms then walked with two outs and Buriak hit a double to score Helms and give herself a 2-0 lead. Arcadia added a third run in the second as Brandee Zablotsky continued her torrid start to the season with an RBI single. Principia got on the board in the fifth scoring an unearned run, but the Knights got that run back in the sixth on an RBI double by Alexandra Schafer for a 4-1 final.

Burak pitched a complete game, allowing one run, unearned, while scattering five hits and struck out eight. Shotwell was 2-4 with a pair of runs scored. Marissa Perez was also 2-3.

Arcadia will continue play in Myrtle Beach tonight at 5:30 as they face Spalding.
