Women's Lacrosse Drops Non-Conference Match at Albright

Box Score Reading, PA (March 5, 2013) - The Arcadia University Knights (0-3) fell to the Albright College Lions (2-0) this afternoon, 12-8 in non-conference action. Arcadia led 8-6 at the break, but Albright scored six unanswered goals in the second half to earn the win. Haylee Molloy scored four goals for the Knights.

Arcadia got on the board first has Molloy scored from Dawn Faranetta at the 27:51 mark. Albright then scored the next two to take a 2-1 lead. Arcadia tied the game at the 24:35 mark as Meghan Fallon scored from Faranetta. The Knights then took the lead back as Abbie Webster scored with 22:56 to play in the first half. The Lions then tied the match at three at 20:24.  Jenna Crothers put the Knights back up front, 4-3 at the 18:53 mark, but again Albright tied the score.

The Knights then scored two straight as Fallon scored, followed by Molloy for a 6-4 Arcadia lead at the 12:36 mark. The Lions the scored a pair and the match was tied at six with 8:05 to play in the first half. Molloy scored a free position goal at 5:56 and then scored another goal off a Brewster assist for an 8-6 Knight lead at the 2:46 mark. The game went to the break with Arcadia leading 8-6.

Arcadia outshot Albright 15-13, but lost 12 of the 16 draws. The Knights did force 14 turnovers, while committing 11.

Albright scored six unanswered goals in the second half and held the Knights to just seven shots in the half. Albright outshot Arcadia 29-21 and forced 16 second half turnovers. Albright controlled the draws winning 16 of the 22 draws in they match.

Arcadia will now have two weeks off as they will not be back in action until Thursday, March 21st for a 7pm face-off against Penn State Abington.
