Box Score Glenside, PA (April 10, 2013) - The Arcadia University Knights (10-12) won their fourth straight game this afternoon, 9-1 (5) over Penn State Abington (10-7) in game one of a doubleheader. The Knights scored in every inning but the first.
Alexandra Schafer went 2-3 with a solo homer, a run scored and three RBI.
The Knights got on the board in the second as
Ashley John scored on a wild pitch. They plated two more in the third as Schafer homered and
Jessica Wood helped herself with an RBI single. Penn State Abington got a run back in the third to make the score 3-1, but in the fourth Arcadia scored four times.
Marissa Perez hit an RBI fielder's choice, Nicole Larro scored on a wild pitch, Schafer hit a sac fly and Perez scored on a wild pitch for a 7-1 lead. Then in the fifth, Nicole Resh hit an RBI single and Schafer hit an RBI single to win the game 9-1.
Brandee Zablotsky went 2-2 with a runs scored and walk. Wood got he win, pitching five innings and allowing one run on five hits, while striking out five.
Arcadia will face the Nittany Lions for game two later this afternoon.
