Box Score Glenside, PA (April 2, 2013) - The Arcadia University Knights (6-3) won their sixth match tonight defeating the Rutgers-Camden Scarlet Raptors (5-5), 18-9. Arcadia scored nine goals in each half and were led by
Dawn Faranetta who scored six times.
It was Rutgers-Camden who took the 1-0 lead, scoring at the 28:46 mark. Arcadia scored the next five goals as Faranetta scored twice,
Meghan Fallon scored and
Katie Bauer scored for a 5-1 lead at the 22:03 mark. The Scarlet Raptors scored the next two goals to make the score 5-3 at the 13:35 mark.
Adeline Bellesheim made it 6-3 at 11:57, but Rutgers-Camden scored at 10:33 to make it 6-4. The Knights scored three unanswered goals to finish the half as Faranetta scored unassisted, Fallon scored unassisted and Faranetta scored from Fallon for a 9-4 halftime lead.
Abbie Brewster started the second half scoring from
Jessica Santoli at 26:31 to make the score 10-4. The Scarlet Raptors scored the next two goals to make the score 10-6. Faranetta,
Jenna Crothers and
Catherine Brown scored from Fallon for a 13-6 lead at 22:42. Rutgers-Camden scored at 20:39 to make it 13-7, but
Jaclyn Feffer scored at 15:45. The Scarlet Raptors scored the next two to make it 14-9, but the Knights scored the final four goals of the match. Santoli scored from Bauer, Fallon scored a pair and Faranetta wrapped up the scoring for an 18-9 win.
Fallon recorded five goals and two assists and seven other Knights scored once.
Deanna Thompson made three saves in goal to get the win. Arcadia outshot Rutgers-Camden 36-23 and won 15 of the 24 draw controls.
Arcadia returns to action on Saturday as they host King's College in their MAC Freedom opener at 1pm on Easton Field.
