Women's Lacrosse Falls To FDU-Florham In MAC Freedom Championship Game

Box Score Madison, NJ (May 4, 2013) - The Arcadia University Knights had their season come to an end today in a 15-10 loss to the FDU-Florham Devils in the 2013 MAC Freedom Women's Lacrosse Championship Game. FDU scored seven unanswered goals in the first half to take a 7-1 lead that the Knights couldn't recover from.

Arcadia struck first as Meghan Fallon scored from Jenna Crothers at the 29:10 mark. FDU-Florham then scored the next seven goals to take a 7-1 lead at the 15:51 mark. Fallon made it 7-2 at 15:23. but the Devils scored the next two for a 9-2 lead. At 8:35 Dawn Faranetta scored on a free position shot to make the score 9-3. FDU-Florham made it 10-3, but Haylee Molloy scored at 1:49 to make the halftime score 10-4.

Faranetta scored to start the second half and cut the deficit to 10-5. The Devlis make it 11-5, but Fallon scored to make the score 11-6. FDU scored at 17:46 to take a 12-6 lead. Fallon scored again to make it 12-7 and Faranetta scored to make it 12-8 at 12:59. The Devils scored at 12:20 for 13-8 advantage, but Crothers then made it 13-9 at the 12:08 mark. FDU then scored two straight to up their advantage to six goals at 15-9 with 8:44 left to play. Faranetta cut the deficit to five at 15-10 with 4:55 to play. FDU played the stall game for the remainder of the half and won the Championship Game 15-10.

Fallon scored four goals in her final game as a Knight. Faranetta also scored four times. Jordyn Dunacusky made seven saves in goal for the Knights.

Arcadia ends their season with a 14-5 record.
