Men’s Tennis Falls to Lebanon Valley, 6-3

ANNVILLE, Pa. – The Arcadia University men's tennis team dropped a 6-3 non-conference match at Lebanon Valley College Saturday afternoon, dropping its record to 1-1 for the season. The Dutchmen improved to 2-0 with the win.

Sophomore Alexander Colton (Lafayette Hill, Pa.) won a 6-3, 7-6 (7-5) decision at No. 3 singles against junior Jordan Shankroff (Myerstown, Pa.), while senior Marc Ruggia (Mt. Laurel, N.J.) earned a 6-4, 6-2 win at No. 5 singles over freshman Eric Rebellato (Keswick, Va.). Freshman Charles Paklukuha (West Creek, Pa.) was a 6-2, 6-2 winner at sixth singles over junior Pat Jones (Lancaster, Pa.).

The Knights could have pulled out the win had a couple of the close matches gone the other way. Arcadia dropped a 9-7 decision at first doubles and an 8-6 decision at third, while sophomore Darren Stochmal (Millville, N.J.) fell in three sets at fourth singles to sophomore Brent Greco (Millville, N.J.) 6-7, 6-3, 8-10.

Arcadia will next host a non-conference match against Alvernia University September 28 at 1 p.m. at Weiss Courts.
