Volleyball Splits at Gwynedd Mercy Tri-Match

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA (September 28, 2013) - The Arcadia University Volleyball team split in two matches on Saturday at the Gywnedd Mercy tri-match, beating host Gywnedd 3-2 and dropping a 3-2 decision to Wesley. The splits puts the Knights at a 6-5 overall record.

Gwynedd saw too huge rallies early on, overcoming a 24-21 deficit to win the first set and again in the second in a wild 33-31 win. In the third set, the Knights would rally to defeat the Griffins 25-15 and would continue the same success in set four winning 25-9 and then finally putting the Griffins away in set five winning 15-6.  

Junior Natalie Cadmus led the Knights with a match-high 15 kills, she also added 15 digs.  Freshman Makenna Micklus contributed 11 kills and 6 digs.  Junior Taylor Hoover had a match-high 29 assists to pace the Knights.

Arcadia opened up their match with Wesley College beating the Wolverines 25-22 in set one.  Wesley answered in set two winning 25-22.  Set three was owned by the Knights 25-20.  Set four, Welsey answered back defeating the Knights 25-15.  In the final set of the match the Wolverines would rally and defeat the Knights 15-3 to take the match victory.  

The trio of Cadmus, Micklus and Hoover would pace the Knights in their second match of the day.  Cadmus recorded 10 kills and 15 digs.  Micklus contributed 11 kills and 9 digs.  Hoover had a match-high 32 assists for the Knights.

Arcadia will return to MAC Commonwealth action this Wednesday when they host the Mustangs of Stevenson at 7 PM in Alumni Gymnasium.
