Complete ResultsGLENSIDE, Pa. – The Arcadia University men's swim team was edged out by visiting Hood College in its season-opening meet Saturday afternoon at Lenox Pool by a score of 132-125.
Junior
Timothy Graham and sophomore
Eric Lam highlighted the day for the Knights, both taking down Lenox Pool records in their respective events. Graham was the top finisher in the 200 butterfly with a pool-record time of 2:02.76, while Lam finished first with a pool-record time of 2:04.45 in the 200 individual medley.
Graham also finished second in the 200 IM with a time of 2:06.02 and recorded a second-place finish in the 200 breaststroke after touching in at 2:24.55. To go along with his pool-record finish, Lam recorded a win in the 200 backstroke (2:02.05) and a second-place result in the 100 backstroke (56.18).
Sophomore
Matthew Morano placed first in 200 freestyle (1:51.52), second in the 500 freestyle (5:07.79), and finished second in the 200 butterfly (2:07.67). He was also a part of the 200 freestyle relay team with freshman
Jacob Schellinger, senior
David Battistelli and freshman
Chris Nicolescu that placed first with a time of 1:32.63.
Nicolescu was Arcadia's top finisher in the 100 breaststroke with a second-place time of 1:04.32, while junior
Will Nolter finished second in the 1,000 freestyle with a time of 12:00.38.
Freshman
Anthony Crane and senior
Alex Ganguzza also picked up second-place finishes on the day. Crane touching in at 51.18 in the 100 freestyle and Ganguzza at 56.97 in the 100 butterfly. Battistelli placed third in the 50 freestyle after a time of 23.69.
The 200 medley relay team of Lam, Nicolescu, Graham and Schellinger took second with a time of 1:43.53.
The Knights will return to the pool when they travel to Lebanon Valley College on Friday for a 6 p.m. meet.
