Women’s volleyball sweeps Bryn Athyn, 3-0

BRYN ATHYN, Pa. – The Arcadia University women's volleyball team improved to 14-7 for the season with a 3-0 (25-23, 25-15, 29-27) non-conference victory at Bryn Athyn College Friday night. The Lions fell to 9-15 with the loss.
 
The Knights 14 wins so far this season are the most since recording a program-record 19 victories in 2001, and are the fifth-most in a season in program history.
 
Senior outside hitter Natalie Cadmus led Arcadia with 12 kills and 11 digs. She now has 278 kills this season, moving her up to second in the program's single-season record list. She surpassed Natasha Wetten's 271 kills in 2007, and now only trails Heidi McCalister's program-record 388 kills set in 2001.
 
Alexia Bell handed out 25 assists, and now ranks 10th in the program's all-time single-season list with 488. She is 27 assists behind the Nicole Cifuni's ninth-place total of 515 assists in 1999. Bell also had a match-high four service aces in the match.
 
Freshman middle hitter Colleen Stengel also had a strong performance for the Knights, hitting .368 with eight kills and one error on 19 total attempts.
 
Senior outside hitter Kaitlyn Brock scored a match-high 13 kills to lead Bryn Athyn, while sophomore middle hitter Taylor Davis notched 11 kills. Sophomore setter Catherine Kirk had a match-high 26 assists.
 
Arcadia will return to action Thursday, hosting its final home match of the regular season against Lebanon Valley College at 7 p.m. at Alumni Gymnasium.
