GLENSIDE, Pa. – The Arcadia University women's volleyball team opened the 2014 MAC Crossover with a 3-0 (25-21, 25-14, 25-16) victory over King's College (Pa.) Saturday morning at Alumni Gymnasium. The Knights improved to 9-4 with the win, while the Monarchs fell to 9-5.
Senior outside hitter
Natalie Cadmus recorded a match-high 15 kills with five digs, while sophomore outside hitter
Makenna Micklus hit .400 with 10 kills and two errors on 20 attempts. Freshman middle hitter
Colleen Stengel added eight kills with three blocks.
Sophomore setter
Alexia Bell tallied 29 assists with 17 digs, while freshman libero
Sami Evans registered a match-high 19 digs.
Freshman middle hitter Katelyn Shifflett had five kills and four blocks to lead King's, which totaled just 23 kills and hit .067 in the match. Four Monarchs recorded three kills in the match.
King's will next face Hood College at 1 p.m. in its second and final match of Saturday's MA C Crossover. Arcadia will return to action when they face Manhattanville College at 5 p.m. in the fourth and final match of the day.
