Box Score GLENSIDE, Pa. – The Arcadia University men's basketball team opened the game with an 8-0 run and never looked back on its way to an 81-61 Commonwealth Conference victory over visiting Lebanon Valley College Tuesday night at Alumni Gymnasium.
The Knights improved to 8-16 overall and 3-14 in Commonwealth Conference games with the win, which also snapped a five-game slide. The Dutchmen fell to 9-15 overall and 7-10 in conference play with the loss.
Sophomore guard
John Landro (Cornwall on Hudson, N.Y.) scored a game-high 17 points on 7-of-12 shooting from the field with three threes and four assists for Arcadia, while junior guard
Torrell Candelaria (Philadelphia, Pa.) poured in 16 points on 5-of-7 shooting from the floor and a 5-for-five showing at the line.

Joe Brown (Philadelphia, Pa.) and sophomore forward
Alex Cohen (Ridgewood, N.J.) each netted 10 points while grabbing seven rebounds. Senior guard
Rashon Brock (Buena, N.J.) just missed a double-digit scoring performance of his own as he shipped in with nine points off the bench.
Junior guard Kevin Agnew (Mechanicsburg, Pa.) scored 16 points to lead Lebanon Valley, but struggled from the field overall, going 5-of-21 from the floor and 1-of-9 from three. Senior forward Joey Giangiobbe (Bethlehem, Pa.) also scored in double-figured for the Dutchmen with 10 points.
The Knights shot 52 percent (17-33) from the field in the first half as they build a 42-32 lead at the break, and the shot 63 percent (15-24) from the floor as they pulled away in the second half. Arcadia had a 38-30 scoring advantage in the paint and had a 25-9 edge in bench scoring.
Lebanon Valley shot 40 percent (12-30) from the field in the first half and dropped to 32 percent (11-34) I the second. The Dutchmen were just 4-of-20 (20 percent) in the game from three-point range.
The Knights got out to a quick 8-0 lead only to see LVC tie the game at 15-15 eight minutes into the contest. Arcadia then took over the contest with a 17-4 run that gave them a 32-19 lead with seven minutes left in the first frame.
The Dutchmen were back with eight in the early stages of the second half before the Knights slowly pulled away and later used a nine-point run to open a commanding 22-point lead, 70-48, with 6:37 remaining in the game.
Arcadia will close out the 2013-14 season on Saturday when they Knights host Widener University at 3 p.m. at Alumni Gymnasium. Brock and senior guard
