Women’s Lacrosse Team Dominates Penn State-Abington, 20-0

Box Score HATBORO, Pa. – The Arcadia University women's lacrosse team remained undefeated on the season after recording a 20-0 non-conference victory at Penn State-Abington Friday afternoon, improving its record to 5-0 for the year. The Nittany Lions fell to 0-4 with the loss.
 
Arcadia had 12 different players score in the game, led by three-goal performances by sophomore midfielder s Dawn Faranetta (Randolph, N.J.) and Jessica Santoli (Elmont, N.Y.) Senior attack Jenna Crothers added two goals and added a game-high three assists for a game-high five points.
 
Senior attack Sara Volk-Perez (Mays Landing, N.J.), junior midfielder Catherine Brown (Howell, N.J.) and junior defender Maura Quigley (Paoli, Pa.) also added two goals each. For Quigley, they were the first two goals of her collegiate career. Freshman attack Samantha Diaz (Scotch Plains, N.J.) also added her first collegiate goal in the game.
 
Sophomore goalie Jordyn Dunacusky (Conshohocken, Pa.) needed to make just two saves, both in the second half, to record the first shutout victory of her collegiate career.
 
The Knights outshot Penn State-Abington 35-4, had a 26-5 advantage in ground balls and a 20-2 advantage in draw controls.
 
The last time Arcadia posted a shutout victory was an 18-0 victory over Rosemont College April 4, 2011 in Glenside.
 
The Knights will continue their four-game road trip Monday when they travel to Gwynedd Mercy University for a 4 p.m. non-conference contest.
