GLENSIDE, Pa. – The Arcadia University women's volleyball team posted a 3-1 Commonwealth Conference victory over visiting Hood College Wednesday night at Alumni Gymnasium. It was the conference opener for both teams.
The Knights, who are now 5-1 for the season, opened with a 25-15 win in the first set, but struggled to carry that momentum over to the second and lost 25-18. Arcadia got right back on track though, opening the third set with a 11-2 run on its way to a 25-9 win, and then opened the fourth set by scoring nine in a row to close out the match with 25-16 win.

Natalie Cadmus hit .417 after recording a match-high 18 kills with three errors in 36 attempts to go with eight digs and five blocks to lead the Knights. Freshman middle hitter
Colleen Stengel hit .368 after putting down 10 kills with three errors on 19 attempts to go along with three blocks and three aces. Sophomore setter
Alexia Bell handed out 30 assists to go with nine digs and three aces.
Junior middle hitter Hayley Roop led the Blazers (2-6) with seven kills, while freshman outside hitter Elizabeth Hawkesworth added six kills and six digs. As a team, Hood recorded more attack errors than kills in the match (27 kills, 28 attack errors).
Arcadia will return to action Saturday when it travel to Immaculata University for a 1 p.m. non-conference match.
