Women’s volleyball falls to 1-1 in conference play after 3-1 setback at Lycoming

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The Arcadia University women's volleyball team dropped a 3-1 (21-25, 26-24, 22-25, 18-25) Commonwealth Conference match at Lycoming College Tuesday night, dropping its record to 5-3 overall and 1-1 in conference play. It was the first conference match of the year for the Warriors, who improved to 9-5 overall.
 
Sophomore middle hitter Makenna Micklus led Arcadia with a match-high 17 kills, while senior outside hitter Natalie Cadmus posted a double-double with 16 kills and 11 digs. Sophomore setter Alexia Bell tallied 40 assists to go with 12 digs and chipped in on offense with three kills.
 
Sophomore right side hitter Kristine Jahn led Lycoming with 15 kills to just one error in 36 attempts for a .389 hitting percentage, and fell just short of a double-double with nine digs. Junior middle hitter Bethany Richardson hit a match-best .480 with 13 kills and one error on 25 attempts, while sophomore outside hitter Maggie Slawson hit .393 with 13 kills and two errors in 28 swings. Freshman setter Catherine Burger registered a match-high 50 assists with eight digs.
 
The Warriors hit .321 (58-13-140) in the match, while Arcadia hit .196 (53-24-148).
 
The Knights will look to bounce back Saturday when they travel to Cairn University for an 11 a.m. non-conference match.
