OWINGS MILLS, Md. – Host Stevenson University opened the game with an 8-2 run and never looked back on its way to a 78-56 Commonwealth Conference win over the Arcadia University women's basketball team Saturday. The Mustangs improved to 16-2 overall and 10-0 in conference play with their 14th consecutive victory, while the Knights fell to 10-10 overall and 6-5 in conference games.
Junior guard
Maureen Fiocca scored 16 points for Arcadia, while junior forward tallied 14 points with 13 rebounds. It was the 15th double-double of the season for Crenny, who entered today's action ranked first in the conference and fifth in the country in that category.
Sophomore forward Sara Tarbert scored a game-high 26 points with nine rebounds to lead Stevenson, while junior guard Stephanie Martinez poured in 19 points on 7-of-8 shooting from the field with five threes. Martinez made each of Mustangs' three-pointers in the game.
Stevenson shot 42 percent (23-55) from the field in the game, while holding the Knights to 29 percent (15-51) shooting from the floor.
Arcadia will try and bounce back Wednesday when it hosts a 6 p.m. Commonwealth Conference contest against Lebanon Valley College at Alumni Gymnasium.
