Complete ResultsGLENSIDE, Pa. - The Arcadia University women's swimming team defeated both FDU-Florham and Misericordia University in a double dual meet Saturday afternoon at Lenox Pool to improve to 4-0 for the season. The Knights defeated the Devils 207-42, and the Cougars 134-124.
Freshman
Alyssa D'Esposito won the 1,000 freestyle (11:34.20) and went on to place first in the 500 freestyle (5:42.84). She edged out classmate
Kate Wojnar in the 500 (5:43.98), giving Arcadia a one-two finish. Wojnar registered a first-place finish in the 200 freestyle (2:05.97), and was the team's top finisher in the 100 freestyle with a fourth-place time of 59.39 seconds.
Freshman
Sara Bianco was the victor in the 100 backstroke (1:05.39), and was the runner-up in the 200 backstroke (2:24.14), while classmates
Samantha Carpenter and
Taylor Byers recorded a one-two finish in the 100 breaststroke with respective times of 1:09.74 and 1:13.37. Carpenter was the runner-up in the 50 freestyle (26.74) and the 200 breaststroke (2:32.86), while Byers took second in the 200 IM (2:23.54) and third in the 200 breaststroke (2:39.59).
Junior
Megan Obarowski took second in the 100 and 200 butterfly events with respective times of 1:05.18 and 2:24.61, and took third in the 200 IM (2:25.60). Freshman
Rylee Cella took third in the 200 backstroke (2:26.56) and the 200 butterfly (2:34.75).
The Knights finished second and third in the 200 freestyle relay. The second-place team of Carpenter, sophomore
Lindsay Fortier, junior
Lillie Curtis, and Byers clocked in at 1:47.59, while the third-place team of junior
Anna Sweeney, Cella, D'Esposito and Fundakowski posted a time of 1:54.69. The 200 medley relay team consisting of sophomore
Rose Georgias, Fundakowski, Obarowski and Wojnar placed second with a time of 2:02.67.
Arcadia will be back in action next Saturday, November 7, when it host a Middle Atlantic Conference dual meet against Albright College at 1 p.m. at Lenox Pool
