GLENSIDE, Pa. – The Arcadia University men's basketball team suffered an 83-74 setback in its MAC Commonwealth opener to Lebanon Valley. The loss drops Arcadia to 5-2, while the Dutchmen improve to 4-3.
The Dutchmen wasted little time getting the upper hand as they scored the game's first six points.
Ryan Kelley got the Knights on the board with a triple two and a half minutes in before
Evan Slone pull the Arcadia within one a few seconds later. Efficient shooting from the Dutchmen however proved to be the difference as the Scarlet and Grey would not tie nor gain the lead.
A 9-0 run with nine minutes left in the game propelled the Dutchman to a game-high 14-point lead. An aggressive Knight team was unable to mount a comeback, however came within six when
Josh Scott score the team's final point on a free throw with 1:09 left.
The Scarlet and Grey shot 41.5% on the night. Scott led three Knights in double figures with 17 points,
Kyle Reilly added 11 with Kelley contributing 10. Lebanon Valley Shot 53.4% in the game with four players reaching double-digit points. Andy Orr led all scorers with 25, while Zach Mrozek dropped 20; Sam Light added 18 with Travis Conrad posting 11.
The Knights return to Alumni Gymnasium on Saturday to host Messiah at 3 p.m.
