Stevenson led almost the entire way, going up by as many as nine in the first half before settling for a 32-29 lead at the break after a basket from Arcadia senior
Khalil Curtis with 44 seconds remaining in the period. The Mustangs quickly opened a 10-point advantage after outscoring the Knights 12-5 in the opening three and a half minutes of the second half and later used a 9-1 burst to go up by a game-high 17 points midway through the frame.
Arcadia was able to gradually chip away at that deficit and pulled back within five following a Saltus free throw cut Stevenson's lead to 71-66 with 3:14 to go in the game. It was once again a five-point contest after Brown's layup just over a minute later, but the Knights would get the rest of the way. Fisher answered with a layup at the other end and the Mustangs went 8 for 10 at the line in the final minute and a half to close out the win.
