Molloy Sets All-Time Goals Record to Lead Women’s Lacrosse to 12-3 Win over Hood

GLENSIDE, Pa. – Senior Haylee Molloy scored a game-high four goals to lead the Arcadia University women's lacrosse team to a 12-3 Commonwealth Conference victory over Hood College Saturday, and in doing so became the Knights' career goal scoring leader.

Molloy now has 229 career goals in her four years at Arcadia, surpassing the previous career mark of 228 goals scored by Traci Conrad from 1994-97. Molloy also raised her career-record point total to 295, and needs just five more points to become the program's first-ever 300-point scorer.

The game was never in doubt as the Knights scored each of the seven first half goals to take control of the game. Freshman Nicole Hutson scored a pair of goals in the opening 1:17 of the contest before Molloy scored back-to-back goals in a span of 1:21 to put the Knights up 4-0 less than 10 minutes in. Molloy tied the program's career record for goals to open the second half scoring just 59 seconds in, and capped the scoring off a feed from freshman Allegra Benites with 1:02 to go to set the all-time mark.

Junior Dawn Faranetta totaled a game-high seven points after scoring four goals and assisting on three others for Arcadia, while classmate Adeline Bellesheim scored one goal and assisted on two others. Junior Jordyn Dunacusky totaled three saves with one goal against in 41:34 to earn the win in net, improving her record to 9-5.

Sophomores Shay Braithwaite, Anne Lessard and Taylor McGaughey scored one goal each for Hood, while junior Lauren Couch put on a show in net, totaling 24 saves.

Arcadia will next travel to Widener University Tuesday for a Commonwealth Conference contest.
