GLENSIDE, Pa. – The Arcadia University men's tennis team lost a tightly contested 5-4 Freedom Conference decision to visiting FDU-Florham Thursday at Weiss Courts, dropping its record to 2-3 overall and 0-2 in conference play. The Devils improved to 2-5 overall after winning their conference-opener.
The Knights trailed 2-1 following doubles play, with the third-doubles tandem of sophomores
Ricardo Margolles and
Wesley Wei defeating junior Ryan O'Keefe and sophomore Matt Adapoe 8-2. Arcadia drew even at 4-4 with only fourth-singles remaining, but Margolles fell in three sets to freshman Steven Serras 1-6, 6-3, 3-6.
Wei went on to win in straight sets at third singles, downing freshman Chris Ly 6-1, 6-1, while sophomore
Chuck Poklikuha was a 6-2, 6-4 winner over O'Keefe at fifth-singles. Junior
Simon Mohr also won in straight sets at sixth-singles over Adapoe 6-1, 6-0.
The Knights will be off until next Thursday when they take on Delaware Valley University.
