Women’s Lacrosse Falls to Top-Seeded Stevens Tech in ECAC Semifinals, 13-2

HOBOKEN, N.J. – The fourth-seeded Arcadia University women's lacrosse team saw its season come to an end Saturday with a 13-2 loss to top-seeded and host Stevens Institute of Technology in the semifinal round of the 2015 Eastern College Athletic Conference Mid-Atlantic Championship Tournament. The Knights, who were making their first-ever ECAC tournament appearance, finished the season with a 13-8 overall record.
 
Junior Dawn Faranetta scored both goals for Arcadia, scoring unassisted goals with 12:45 left in the first half and 2:58 remaining in the second. She closes the year ranked fourth all-time in program history with 158 career goals and 220 career points.
 
The Ducks (14-5) scored each of the first three goals of the game as they took a 3-1 lead at the break. Julianna Ricci scored twice in the span of 3:11 to open the scoring and Erika Wilcox capped the run midway through the first half. Kathleen Kalbian scored a pair of goal in just under a minute to open the second half scoring, starting a nine-goal surge for Stevens that put the game away.
 
Wilcox finished the game with four goals and one assist, while Kalbian finshed with three goals and two helpers. Ricci also found the back of the net three times, while Stephanie Schnelzer tallied five saves to earn the decision in goal. 

Freshman Liz Stierle took the loss in goal for Arcadia after totaling nine saves in her second career start.
