Box Score 2 HOBOKEN, N.J. - The Arcadia women's volleyball team finished the Stevens Ducks Classic Saturday afternoon with a pair of defeats. The Knights fell to NYU 3-0 and Stockton 3-1.
The Scarlet and Grey battled back from an early 11-3 deficit to eventually take a lead of as many as two at 16-14, before falling NYU took set one 25-20. In the middle set,
Kayla Resh started with a pair of service aces. The Bobcats tied the game at two before the Knights opened a 7-2 advantage. After the trading the lead numerous times, NYU took the second set 33-31. The third set went similar as the Knights had an early lead before falling 25-16.
To finish the day, the Scarlet and Grey fell behind early in the first set with Stockton before dropping the game 25-9. They would rebound in set number two as the two teams traded short runs and with them the lead.
Kayla Resh capped off a 4-0 run with a service to give the Knights the 26-24 set win. Stockton took sets three and four 25-16 and 25-11, respectively.
Four Knights entered double digit kills on the day, led by
Makenna Micklus with 16. who had a team-leading 11 in the day's opener against NYU.
Christina Karnavas split her 14 kills on the day evenly between the two matches, with
Elizabeth Joseph, who was named to the All-Tournament Team, recording nine against NYU and five against Stockton. 10 kills from
Becca Campf were evenly distributed as she recorded five in each match.
Alexia Bell dished out 56 assists to the tune of 29 and 27, respectively.
Defensively, Resh picked up 24 digs to lead all Knights with a dozen in each match. Karnavas added a 13 digs.
Arcadia returns to the court on Wednesday, when they travel to Alvernia for MAC Commonwealth action.
