Complete ResultsCHESTER, Pa. – The Arcadia University women's swimming team dropped a 177-83 Middle Atlantic Conference dual meet at Widener University Monday night. It was the final dual meet of the 2015-16 campaign for both teams.
The Knights posted an 8-2 dual meet record this season, setting a new program record for dual meet wins in a season. Included in that mark was a perfect 6-0 record at Lenox Pool. The Pride closed the season at 9-3.
Freshmen
Taylor Byers and
Samantha Carpenter one win and one second-place finish each to lead Arcadia. Byers was victorious in the 200 IM with a time of 2:21.53 and was the runner-up in the 100 freestyle with a time of 56.96 seconds, while Carpenter won the 100 breaststroke after touching the wall in 1:08.56 and later placed second in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:31.49.
Sophomore
Rose Georgias came in second in the 200 backstroke after going 2:28.55, and went 1:06.80 to finish third in the 100 backstroke. Freshman
Alyssa D'Esposito came in second in the 1,000 freestyle with a time of 11:25.36 in the first individual event of the day, and later placed third in the 500 freestyle after finishing in 5:44.97.
Junior
Lillie Curtis took third in the 50 freestyle after registering a time of 27.81 seconds, while classmate
Megan Obarowski placed third in the 200 butterfly and 200 IM with respective times of 2:27.35 and 2:26.06. Sophomore
Danielle Fundakowski was third in the 200 freestyle after posting a time of 2:07.73, edging junior
Anna Sweeney (2:08.20), before finishing third in the 100 butterfly with a time of 1:07.94. Sweeney also finished fourth in the 100 freestyle with a time of 1:00.34.
The Knights will return to action when they compete at the 2016 Middle Atlantic Conference Championships, while will take place February 11-14 at the Graham Aquatic Center in York, Pa.
