OWINGS MILLS, Md. – The Arcadia University men's basketball team shot just 37 percent (23-63) from the field and 29 percent (5-17) from three as it dropped a 76-59 MAC Commonwealth decision at Stevenson University Saturday.
This marks the first back-to-back losses of the season for the Knights, who fell to 10-4 overall and 3-2 in conference play. The Mustangs shot 51 percent (29-57) from the field as they improved to 5-10 overall and 3-3 in league play with the win.
Junior
Ryan Kelley scored a game-high 23 points to lead Arcadia, going 8 of 14 from the field and 3 of 4 from downtown, but was the only Knight to reach double figures in scoring. Sophomore

Josh Scott were Arcadia's second-highest scorers with seven points each. Bacote also pulled down a team-best seven rebounds in the game.
Erik Fisher matched Kelley's 23-point performance to lead Stevenson, going 11 of 18 from the floor while grabbing a game-high 10 boards. Former Knight
Sean Mayberry was close behind, netting 20 points on 6 of 10 shooting from the field and a 7 for 7 performance at the line, while Korey Hayman, Jr. added 15 points with five assists.
Arcadia got off to a slow start as Stevenson outscored the Knights 19-4 in the opening eight minutes of the game, a run that was capped by a pair of free throw from Chris Day. Arcadia came storming back and tied the game at 27-all on a fast break layup from freshman

That proved to be the third and final time the score would be knotted in the game as Ryan Hill's jumper gave the Mustangs the lead for good on the ensuing possession and Fisher's layup put Stevenson ahead by four at the half, 31-27.
The Knights kept it close early in the second half and were within five after a three from Kelley made it 44-39 seven minutes into the frame, but a quick seven-point surge by Stevenson gave it a 51-39 advantage and the Mustangs went on to lead by as many as 20 with five minutes to play in the game.
Arcadia will look to get back on track Wednesday when it travels to Alvernia University for an 8 p.m. MAC Commonwealth contest.
