No. 12/22 Women’s Soccer Takes 4-2 Win at Albright, Clinch Playoff Spot

READING, Pa. – The Arcadia University women's soccer team got back in the win column Tuesday night with a 4-2 road win over MAC Commonwealth rival Albright. The win moves the No. 12/22 Knights to 15-1 on the season with a 5-1 record in conference play; the Lions are now 9-6-1 with a 3-2-1 conference mark. The win clinches a berth into the MAC Commonwealth Championship for the fourth consecutive season.

HOW IT HAPPENED: Arcadia found itself in an early 1-0 deficit following a Dylan Shipe goal in the 19th minute.  That deficit lasted all of 10 minutes as junior Tara Smith found a loose ball in front of the goal with which she beat the keeper low. The scoreboard showed a 2-1 lead in favor of Arcadia at the half courtesy of a goal from junior Jess Kelly in the 38th minute; freshman Veronica Garcia registered an assist on the play. Senior Jackie Glanfield netted what proved to be the game-winning marker as she one-touched a pass from freshman Alex Estrella in the 82nd minute. Albright pulled within one in the 85th minute, before junior Kayla Haberbosch found the back of the net in the 90th minute.

SINGLE SEASON HISTORY: Haberbosch's 90th minute goal, her 17th of the season, puts her in a tie with senior Lennon Kramer for first place on Arcadia's single season goals list. Kramer netted 17 goals in 2013. The two points that came with the goal pull Haberbosch to within three points of Kim Canfield's single-season points record of 43 set back in 2013.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS: Shots on goal were even at six apiece; however the Knights took 17 total shots to 13 for Albright. The hosts held a 7-5 advantage in corner kicks.

IN GOAL: Freshman Taelor Rivera moved to 13-0 as she allowed one goal and made two saves in 62:05 of work; sophomore Evelyn Feigeles played the first 27:55 allowing one goal and making two saves. Alexis Tunney made two saves while allowing four goals in the loss for Albright.
