Box Score CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – The Arcadia University men's basketball team dropped an 87-71 decision at DeSales Wednesday night. The Knights fell to 1-3 on the season, while the Bulldogs improved to 3-2.
HOW IT HAPPENED: The first five minutes of the contest were closely played as neither team led by more than three. Junior
Brandon Thompson gave Arcadia that three-point lead with a three under than two minutes in for a 5-2 advantage. A pair of free throws from sophomore
Josh Scott had the Knights in front 12-11 just shy of five minutes in before the hosts ripped off the next dozen points over the following three minutes to open a 23-12 lead with 12:10 left in the frame. Sophomore
Evan Slone helped fuel a 15-6 run in response with eight points pull Arcadia to within two at 29-27 with 4:52 to go in the half. DeSales went on to score 12 of the half's final 16 points to give the Bulldogs a 41-31 lead at the half.
The second half began similar to the first as the teams traded short runs of no more than five over the first five-plus minutes. The hosts then extended its lead to 62-43 with a 13-2 run. The Knights went 4-4 from the field in the retaliatory 10-0 run with sophomore

Ryan Kelley and Slone all laying in two points, the run brought Arcadia within nine with 9:39 to play. The hosts responded with a 13-4 run to put the game away.
ARCADIA LEADERS: Slone led the Knights with 21 points on 9-17 shooting while also recording a team-high eight rebounds. Scott followed with 17, while Kelley and Thompson each registered 10 points.
DeSALES LEADERS: Brian Laird led all scorers with 27 points on 7-11 shooting, including 6-10 from three. Ryan Callahan added 14, while tying for the team-lead in rebounds with six.
ALL-TIME LEADERS: Kelley moved up Arcadia's all-time records list in both assists and steals. His five steals give him 202 for his career, fifth all-time while his five assists moved him to fourth with 134.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS: The Knights shot 37.1% (26-70) from the floor and went 2-14 from distance, while converting 17-23 (73.9%) from the free throw line. The Bulldogs shot 56.3% (27-48) from the floor while going 10-10 from beyond the arc and 23-36 from the free throw line.
