Box Score FREDERICK, Md. – The Arcadia University men's basketball team suffered a 63-60 setback at Hood Monday night. The Knights could not overcome a 55.6% (20 of 36) shooting performance by the hosts and they shot just 38.2% from the field. Arcadia falls to 13-6 and 6-4 in the MAC Commonwealth, Hood moves to 12-9 overall and 6-6 in conference play.
 
A poor shooting performance in the opening frame proved to be too much for Arcadia as the Knights shot just 25% (7 of 28) in the opening 20 minutes. Hood may have taken half as many shots as the Scarlet and Grey, but the Blazers made the most of their opportunities by sinking 11 of 14 field goal attempts.
 
The Knights bounced back in the second half shooting 51.9% from the field compared to a 40.9% performance from Hood. Trailing 32-23 at the break, the Knights opened the second half on an 11-2 run that included six points from junior Ryan Kelley to pull within a 34-32 deficit with 14:20 to go.
 
The Blazers pushed their lead back to 11 at 52-41 with five and a half to go, only to have the Knights respond with the next six points capped by a Brandon Thompson three at the 4:46 mark of the half. The sophomore deposited another trey with two minutes to go to pull the Knights within a pair at 55-53 before Kelley tied the game with a jumper 30 seconds later. The ensuing five-point spurt by Hood was enough for the Blazers to pull away for the win.
 
Senior John Landro posted a game-high 16 points for Arcadia with Thompson adding 15 and Kelley depositing 14. The Knights shot 38.2% as a team on the night. Devon Hill was the lone Blazer in double-figures with a game-high 19 points as Hood shot 55.6% for the game.
 
The Knights look to bounce back on Wednesday night when they travel to Albright.
