Jordan Draude hit a grand slam as part of an eight-run seventh inning that propelled the Arcadia University baseball team to a14-6 win over Susquehanna Sunday in its Clemente Cup opener at Estadio Municipal Luis A. "Canena" Marquez. The Knights improved to 3-2 with the win, while the Crusaders dropped to 1-3.
HOW IT HAPPENED: The two teams traded runs through the first six innings, with Arcadia holding a 6-2 lead through four and a half. Susquehanna tied it with one run in the fifth and a three-run sixth before the Knights exploded for eight runs in the top of the seventh to secure the win. Sophomore

George Pagan drew bases loaded walks to put Arcadia up 8-6 before Draude cleared the bases with his blast over the wall in left. A Crusader error led to two more Arcadia runs for the 14-6 final.
ON THE HILL: Freshman
Zach Manasek got the win, the first of his collegiate career, after tossing two -plus scoreless innings in relief of senior
Jason Goldberg, who allowed six runs (five earned) in 5.1 innings of work. Classmate
Joseph Warren recorded the final five outs of the game. James Panzarino took the loss after allowing four runs and failing to record an out in the seventh, which also saw Ryan Beckwith touched up for four runs.
ARCADIA AT-BAT: Draude was 2 for 5 with the grand slam and two runs scored, while freshman
Bryan Gillen was 3 for 5 with two doubles, three runs scored and two driven in. Senior
Nick Todero was on base three times, drawing a pair of walks while going 1 for 4 with a double, three runs scored and two RBI.
SUSQUEHANNA AT-BAT: Matt Cassinelli and Dylan Jenkins were both 1 for 4 with a double, two RBI for the Crusaders. Bryan Palsi was 3 for 4 with one double, two runs scored and anther driven in.
