GLENSIDE, Pa. – The Arcadia University field hockey team struggled to get things going offensively as it fell to visiting Stockton University Thursday night at Easton Field. It was the season-opener for both teams.
HOW IT HAPPENED: Stockton out-shot Arcadia 8-3 on its way to a 1-0 halftime lead, going ahead for good on Leah Davies' tally in the 15th-minute. Laura Olbrich scored nine minutes into the second half for the 2-0 final.
IN GOAL: Emily Sorochynskyj stopped each of the five shots on goal she faced for the Ospreys, while senior
Brittany Hodson totaled six saves in taking the loss for Arcadia.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE: Shots were close to even in the game after Arcadia had an 8-5 advantage in the second half; Stockton held a 13-11 edge for the game. A total of 16 corners were called, nine of which were in favor of the Knights.
