CHESTER, Pa. – The Arcadia University men's basketball team fell to Widener Wednesday night by a score of 70-56 in Chester. The loss dropped the Knights to 8-9 on the season and 3-5 in conference play; the Pride improved to 8-8 overall and 3-5 in conference play.
HOW IT HAPPENED: The Knights got off to a slow start, shooting 4-17 from the floor, but only trailed 18-12 after 13:08 of play. The end of the first half was much different as the Knights went 6-10 from the field, including 2-3 from distance, to tie the game at 28 at halftime. Sophomore

Emmanuel Anderson-Marrow came up big with a three with 24 seconds to go and a buzzer-beating jumper to end the half.

Josh Scott to open the second frame and put the Knights in front for the first time 30-28. His classmate,
Kyle Reilly, responded to the ensuing Sardayah Sambo dunk with a three to give Arcadia a three-point lead less than three minutes into the frame. A 14-2 Widener run followed to give the hosts control with a 44-35 lead just over eight minutes into the frame. Arcadia was able to pull within three over the next 2:08, before the Pride closed the game on a 24-13 run.
ARCADIA LEADERS: Pierfy led the Knights with 15 points and seven rebounds. Scott and Anderson-Marrow each reached double-figures with 12 and 11 points, respectively. Sophomore

Ryan Kelley each had six rebounds, while the latter tied Scott for a team-high four assists.
WIDENER LEADERS: Sambo led all scorers with 19 points, while tying Sam Smith with a game-high nine rebounds. Smith was tied with Ryan McMahon with 14 points.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS: The Knights shot 19-55 (34.5%) from the field, including 6-13 (46.2%) from beyond the arc, while going 12-16 (75%) from the charity stripe. The Pride shot 50% (25-50) from the floor and 6-16 (37.5%) from distance while converting 14-21 (66.7%) at the free throw line.
