Vander Plaat Lifts Women’s Soccer Over Lebanon Valley, Clinches MAC Commonwealth Championship Berth

ANNVILLE, Pa. – Freshmen Erin Vander Plaat found the back of the net  midway through the second half to lift the Arcadia University women's soccer team to a 2-1 come-from-behind win at Lebanon Valley Tuesday afternoon. The win secured the Knights a spot in next week's MAC Commonwealth Championship.
 
FOR THE RECORD:
  • The Scarlet and Grey improved to 12-5 on the year and 6-1 in conference action
  • The Dutchmen fell to 8-4-3 and 4-3 in the MAC Commonwealth
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • The hosts got on the board with a goal in the 32nd minute
  • Hoffman cleaned up a loose ball after a blocked shot to tie the game at one in the 63rd minute
  • Vander Plaat scored on the rebound off a shot from sophomore Karlie Flowers in the 71st minute
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
  • The Knights doubled up the Dutchmen in both shots (20-10) and shots on goal (8-4)
  • Arcadia fired 13 shots over the final 45 minutes of play
  • The Knights took eight corners compared to Lebanon Valley's two
  • Senior Jess Kelly and junior Mia Bertolami led the attack with three shots apiece
  • Freshman Brianna Williams made three saves to pick up her 11th win of the season
