Field Hockey Closes Regular Season in Overtime at Widener

CHESTER, Pa. – The Arcadia University field hockey team fell to Widener 3-2 in overtime Thursday night. The match was the Knights' regular season finale.
 
FOR THE RECORD:
  • The Scarlet and Grey wrapped up the season with a 10-9 overall record and 2-5 mark in the MAC Commonwealth
  • The Pride sit at 11-5 on the year and 5-2 in conference play
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Freshman Lauren Dougherty connected with junior Gabby Sedares with a pass into the circle from the right side just under six and a half minutes in to put Arcadia up one.
  • Sophomore Sydney Cyr tied the game at two midway through the second half when she buried a shot following a rebound off a saved shot from Dougherty in the 55th minute
  • The Pride scored in the 25th, 48th and 74th minutes
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
  • Arcadia put three of six shot attempts on cage
  • Dougherty and Sedares led the offense with two shots apiece
  • Freshman Maya Stern made four saves
NOTES:
  • Dougherty's 30 points on the season are tied for fifth most in a single-season; Sedares' 28 are tied for ninth
STILL TO COME:
  • The Knights await potential selection into the ECAC Division III Championship Tournament. Selections will be announce Monday, November 6.
