DALLAS, Pa. - The Arcadia University men's swimming team downed Misericordia 152-110, and FDU-Florham 206-50, Saturday afternoon in tri-meet action. With the wins, the Knights continue their undefeated start to the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The team of sophomore Tristan Highet, senior Jacob Schellinger, junior Michael Melissen, and senior Grant Fisher captured 1st place points in the 200 yard freestyle relay with a 1:32.16 finish.
- Fisher claimed 1st in two events, the 200 yard freestyle (1:47.60), and the 500 yard freestyle (5:04.17); he also took 3rd in the 100 yard freestyle (50.90).
- Melissen swam two top finishes, taking the 100 yard butterfly in 55.33, and the 200 yard IM in 2:04.34; he also finished 2nd in the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 56.86.
- Sophomore T.J. Dalton took 1st place points in the 1000 yard freestyle, touching the wall in 10:34.46; He went on to finish 2nd in the 500 yard freestyle in the 5:04.92, and 3rd in the 200 yard backstroke in 2:05.64.
- Schellinger won the 200 yard butterfly with a 2:05.97 finish.
- Dalton and Schellinger combined with junior Andrew Givone and sophomore Mark Preedy to claim second in 400 yard medley relay at 3:46.49.
- Givone finished 2nd in the 100 yard breaststroke in 1:02.75. He also took 2nd in the 200 yard IM in 2:05.24, and third in the 200 yard breaststroke in 2:21.55.
- Preedy claimed 2nd place points in the 200 yard breaststroke at 2:20.37 and third in the 100 yard breaststroke with a time of 1:03.06.
- Highet was the runner up in the 50 yard freestyle, touching the wall in 22.87 and the 100 yard freestyle with a time of 49.58.
- Sophomore Zach Bondurant took 2nd in the 1000 yard freestyle, finishing in 10:57.96.
- Sophomore Austin Lauer was the runner up in the 200 yard butterfly, touching the wall in 2:11.98.
- Freshman Justin Reed claimed 3rd in the 100 yard butterfly (56.22), and the 100 yard backstroke (1:00.35).
