Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Second Half Explosion Leads Women’s Soccer to Fourth Straight Win

GLENSIDE, Pa. – The Arcadia University women's soccer team won its fourth straight game Wednesday night as it downed Cabrini 6-0 on Jean Lenox West Field.

FOR THE RECORD: The Knights are now 5-1 on the year, while the Cavaliers fell to 2-1-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED: It took just 37 seconds for senior Jess Kelly to open the scoring, as she took a through ball from sophomore Veronica Garcia and chipped it past the keeper from 30 yards out. Garcia went on to score the first of five Arcadia goals in the second half in the 64th minute firing a shot into the upper right 90 from 20 yards out.

Exactly 10 minutes after Garcia's tally, freshman Emily Readinger met twine for the first time in her career when she cleaned up a loose ball inside the box. Sophomore Amanda McHugh netted the next two goals for the Knights before freshman Riley Nyhus wrapped up the scoring with her first career goal.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS: Arcadia outshot the Cavaliers 26-7 in the game, including 13-3 in shots on goal. Corner kicks were hard to come by as Cabrini took two to the Knights' one.

IN GOAL: Reigning ECAC and MAC Commonwealth Defensive Player of the Week, freshman Brianna Williams, made three saves to move to 5-1 on the year. Gabby Legendre made seven saves as she fell to 1-1.
