SCRANTON, Pa. – The Arcadia University field hockey team traveled to Scranton for non-conference action Saturday afternoon, falling to the host Royals 1-0.
FOR THE RECORD: The Knights fell to 4-2 on the season, while Scranton moved to 6-0.
HOW IT HAPPENED: The Scarlet and Grey came out firing, as they registered the first two shots of the contest in the first 8:25, both off the stick of junior
Lindsay Bechtold. The Royals got on the board in the 27
th minute when Meredith Campbell scored from the top of the circle. Arcadia had a chance late in the second half off a penalty corner; however, sophomore
Sydney Cyr's shot was blocked in front.
IN GOAL: Freshman
Maya Stern (4-2) made one save , while Scranton's Jenna Cyr earned the win to move to 4-0.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS: The Scarlet and Grey fired two shots in each half, while the hosts took seven. Scranton also held the advantage in penalty corners 8-1.
