Field Hockey Edged at Scranton

SCRANTON, Pa. – The Arcadia University field hockey team traveled to Scranton for non-conference action Saturday afternoon, falling to the host Royals 1-0.
 
FOR THE RECORD: The Knights fell to 4-2 on the season, while Scranton moved to 6-0.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED: The Scarlet and Grey came out firing, as they registered the first two shots of the contest in the first 8:25, both off the stick of junior Lindsay Bechtold. The Royals got on the board in the 27th minute when Meredith Campbell scored from the top of the circle. Arcadia had a chance late in the second half off a penalty corner; however, sophomore Sydney Cyr's shot was blocked in front.
 
IN GOAL: Freshman Maya Stern (4-2) made one save , while Scranton's Jenna Cyr earned the win to move to 4-0.
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS: The Scarlet and Grey fired two shots in each half, while the hosts took seven. Scranton also held the advantage in penalty corners 8-1.
