GRANTHAM, Pa. – The Arcadia men's swimming team picked up a pair of conference dual meet wins Friday night, as it bested Messiah, 134-71, and King's, 133-72. The meet marked the Knights' first head-to-head meet since November.
FOR THE RECORD:
- The Scarlet and Grey now boast an 8-1 record on the season.
- Messiah, who bested King's, owns a 5-5 mark.
- The Lions suffered their first two losses of the season and sit at 5-2.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Senior Grant Fisher continued his season with another strong showing. Fisher finished as the Knights' top scorer, picking up three first place finishes. The Ardmore, Pa. native finished the 1,000-yard freestyle with a time of 10:14.27, while clocking a 1:49.67 in the 200-yard freestyle. The senior rounded out his night with 4:59.61.
- Sophomore Tristan Highet added to Arcadia's success, picking up a pair of first place finishes. First, the Teaneck, N.J. native finished the 50-yard freestyle in 22.30 and then clocked a 49.12 in the 100-yard freestyle.
- Sophomore T.J. Dalton racked up points in multiple events, placing in the top-two three times. Dalton started his night with a second-place finish in the 1,000-yard freestyle with a time of 10:14.50. Shortly after, the East Stroudsburg, Pa. native placed first in the 200-yard IM, clocking a 2:01.64. Dalton finished his night with another second-place finish, this time in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:02.43.
- Michael Melissen continued his strong junior season with a pair of second-place individual finishes in the 100-yard butterfly (55.14) and 500-yard freestyle (5:00.86). The Collegeville, Pa. native was also the lead off on the second-place 200-yard medley relay team.
- Anchoring the 200-yard medley team was senior Jacob Schellinger, who went on to claim first-place points in the 100-yard butterfly with a 54.81.
- Junior Andrew Givone and freshman Justin Reed were the other two members of the medley relay team. The former claimed second in the 200-yard IM (2:02.99) and third in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:02.47). Reed added third place points in the 100-yard butterfly with a 55.15 finish.
NOTES:
- The Scarlet and Grey have bested Messiah for the second consecutive season.
- The win over King's marks the fourth straight head-to-head against the Lions.
