Three Reach Double-Figures as Women’s Basketball Falls to Lycoming

GLENSIDE, Pa. – Led by 13 points from sophomore Courtney Hoffman, the Arcadia women's basketball team saw three players reach double figures in a 72-56 setback to Lycoming Saturday afternoon.
 
FOR THE RECORD:
  • The Knights now own a 7-8 overall record that includes a 2-5 mark against conference foes
  • The Warriors moved to 12-4 on the year and 6-2 in the MAC Commonwealth.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Arcadia forced five turnovers over the first 10 minutes of play, while seeing four players find the bottom of the basket. Freshman Taylor Fritz led the way with four points, however the visitors held a 16-10 advantage after one.
  • Junior Camille Menns led the Scarlet and Grey to a 15-14 second quarter win with seven points to lead all players. As a team, the Knights shot 7-of-12 in the frame, while forcing four more turnovers on the defensive end. Lycoming took a 30-25 lead to the half.
  • The third quarter went back-and-forth with a balanced attack from each team. Freshman Kylie Fischer led Arcadia with five points in the frame. Each team committed five turnovers and recorded three steals. The Warriors took a 53-42 into the fourth.
  • Hoffman did most of her damage over the final 10 minutes of play, as the Philadelphia, Pa.  native dropped nine points in the fourth quarter. Classmate Sydney Cyr chipped in five.
INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:
  • Joining Hoffman in double figures were Menns (11) and Cyr (10).
  • Cyr led the Knights on the boards with six, while matching Menns' team-best four assists.
  • The Knights shot 37.7% (23-of-61) from the floor on the day and 9-of-17 from the free throw line.
  • Fritz and Cyr each pulled in four offensive rebounds, tying a game-high.
UP NEXT:
  • The Scarlet and Grey are back in action Monday afternoon at Connecticut College.
