Camille Menns each posted a double-double Saturday afternoon, as the Arcadia women's basketball team fell at Stevenson, 71-62. The performance marks Menns' seventh double-double of the season and Dunn's second.
FOR THE RECORD:
- The Knights now own an 8-10 overall record, and 3-6 MAC Commonwealth mark.
- The Mustangs moved to 11-6 on the year and 6-3 in the conference.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Menns led the way for Arcadia with six points in the first quarter, as she was one of four players to find the bottom of the bucket. The Knights shot 5-of-11 from the floor in the frame, but couldn't overcome turnovers as Stevenson led 18-12 after 10 minutes of play.
- Arcadia came back and outscored the hosts 12-10 in the second quarter, with each bucket coming from a different player. Sophomore Jamie Manzo ended the half with a buzzer-beating layup to cut the deficit to 28-24 at the break.
- Dunn took over in the second half, totaling 15 points over the final 20 minutes of play. Seven of those points came in the third quarter. Heading to the fourth, the scoreboard read 49-38 in favor of Stevenson.
- Trailing 53-40 just over three and half minutes into the final frame, the Scarlet and Grey put together a quick six-point spurt the cut the deficit to seven with 5:22 to go. The teams would trade short quick runs, before the hosts used free throws to help keep the distance.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- The Scarlet and Grey controlled the boards, holding a 51-35 advantage in rebounds highlighted by 34 on the defensive end and 17 on the offensive end.
- Menns led all players with 12 rebounds, followed by Dunn with 11.
- Dunn matched a game-high with 17 points, while Menns, freshman Taylor Fritz and sophomore Sydney Cyr each contributed 10.
- As a team, the Knights shot 22-of-60 from the floor, including 3-of-6 from long range, and 15-of-25 from the free throw line.
